Y7 Yoga Founder Sarah Levey Takes a Lot of Vitamins (and Loves Ketchup)

Y7 Yoga has been taking over the fitness scene (and your Instagram feed) since it held its first hip-hop hot vinyasa class in 2013.

There are now seven studios open across New York City and Los Angeles (including a brand new flagship in Williamsburg) and two more set to debut before the end of 2017. Celebs love it, too: Show up for a WeFlowHard session and you might be sweating next to regulars like Zosia Mamet.

A big part of Y7’s appeal comes from the fact that the tough, fun approach to yoga feels fresh and honest, tailored to fit the lives and preferences of busy Millennials. In other words, it doesn’t take itself too seriously: combining a spiritual practice with Drake and Chance the Rapper beats? Why not?

And that attitude is obviously due in part to co-founder Sarah Levey’s easygoing personality. Below, she shares her relaxed, real approach to healthy living: kale and tomatoes, sure, but also pizza and cheesecake, occasionally. Coffee? Yes. CrossFit? No.
