The holiday season may feel primarily like a workout for your credit card. So this year, we’re focusing as much energy as possible on exercising gratitude. (Our credit cards will get many HIIT sessions in either way!)

Today marks the launch of our #ExercisingGratitude2017 campaign, and guess what? We’re really thankful for each and every one of you…which means we’d really love for you to join us

What’s the Point?

You’ve heard about the benefits of cultivating gratitude, right? Of course you have. In fact, it’s such an effective tool for living a healthier, happier life, a wide range of experts—from scientists to Buddhists—recommend it.

During the holidays, it’s even more important. One, you want to show the people you love how much you care about them and spread happiness and cheer. Two, reminding yourself of how much you have to be thankful for will help you manage the inevitable stress that starts piling up (due to hopelessly tangled lights, challah baking fails, etc.).

How to Participate (We Know You Want In!)

1. Open your Instagram app. Oh, you’ve already liked five photos while reading this? Perfect.

2. Post about what you’re grateful for this year. Post a photo or video that somehow tells a story about what or who you’re thankful for as the year comes to an end. Maybe it’s a pic of the sister who helped you through a rough patch in 2017. Maybe it’s the wrapper from the amazing dark chocolate bar you ate five minutes ago. Seriously. Whatever you want! You won’t get extra points for warm-and-fuzziness, but we suggest taking a few minutes to really reflect on and recognize what you’re thankful for. Maybe even meditate on it a little. In the caption, include the hashtag  #ExercisingGratitude2017 and tag @nutritiouslifeofficial.

3. Pass it on! Nominate as many of your friends as possible (at least one!) to exercise their gratitude next by tagging them in your post. Friends, family, co-workers…spread the love like you’re gluing gumdrops to a gingerbread house.

4. Watch magic happen! For every post that includes the hashtag  #ExercisingGratitude2017 and tags @nutritiouslifeofficial, we’ll donate $1* to Girls on the Run. Why? We’re grateful for the incredible work they’re doing to empower young girls through physical activity. It’s a time when teaching girls how to be strong, healthy women feels more important than ever.
