Alyson Poling does not take a one-thing-fits-all approach to food or fitness, which is why her favorite lesson during the Nutritious Life Certified Course was “Allergies, Inflammation, and Gut Health.”
“I believe each body is different, and how one person eats may not be best for another. I have several fitness clients who have thyroid issues or intolerances to certain foods, and there is nothing more rewarding than helping them find foods and recipes that work for their bodies,” she says. “Being able to help clients find new foods they love…it changes their lives.”

Poling is a Nashville-based fitness instructor and health coach who gave up a career as an accountant to help people live healthier. She now owns two businesses—Alyson Poling Fitness and The Willow Life (with a partner), which offers health coaching and wellness parties.
She became Nutritious Life Certified in Spring of 2017 and is now the fearless leader of Nutritious Life’s Nashville Facebook group. (The group started the year with a community “Reset and Refresh” cleanse and is now kicking off a sugar education program, so if you’re in the Nashville area, join now!)
Below, Poling shares more about her experiences with The Nutritious Life Studio and the unique healthy habits that make up her very own Nutritious Life.
TNS Success: Alyson Poling
What inspired you to sign up for The Nutritious Life Certified Course? I wanted more knowledge. I love to read and learn especially when it’s something I feel passionate about. I also wanted an easy way to explain living a healthy life, because a lot of times the science and numbers can be overwhelming. Finding an easy way to help clients and even myself and family was important to me.
Did The Nutritious Life Studio change your career path at all? I don’t know that I would say it changed my career path, but it definitely helped me add to what I already was doing. It also provided confidence and helped me move forward in my career.
Were there specific lessons that helped you grow your business? First and foremost, Keri is your biggest cheerleader, so for me just hearing her speak and giving words of encouragement throughout the whole program just gave me more confidence in moving my business forward. The Nutritious Life Handbook wrapped all of the business information up nicely to help you be the most prepared in being a Nutritious Life coach. Keri organizes it in a way that makes you ready for your clients.
The one food you always have in your fridge? Berries and spinach.
The one snack you always have when traveling? Apples and almonds.
Your favorite conscious food indulgence? Jeni’s ice cream.
How do you stay active outside the gym? Running and long walks.
What’s your go-to tool for managing stress? Prayer, walks, breathing, and quiet time.
What does it mean to you to “live consciously”? To be in the moment and not distracted by phones and social media. Also, making choices that make you feel your best both mentally and physically.
What’s your weirdest healthy habit? I don’t drink caffeine (many find this weird), and I will drink pickle juice after working out sometimes.
Which healthy habit do you wish you had more time for? I wish I had more time for foam rolling. I do it once a week but want to commit to more because it makes me feel so good!
