It’s really hard to not be happy in Jill Lawrence’s presence.
Before becoming a health coach and getting her Nutritious Life Certification, Lawrence was a comedian, and her approach to wellness reflects that.
“What’s this health coach do?” she says. “Well, imagine if a life coach, nutritionist, and therapist had a threesome…I’d be their baby!” (That’s totally how reproduction works, right?)
Not only is she funny and irreverent, she’s also got a huge heart. She uses kindness and warmth to take care of her clients, connect with her peers in the Nutritious Life Studio community, and help rescue animals. (“Wagging tails and doggy kisses raise your endorphins more than any Girl Scout cookie ever could,” she swears.)

NLS Success: Jill Lawrence
Did the Nutritious Life Studio change your personal eating (or overall wellness) habits at all? Two words: Conscious Indulgence. This girl loves a good dessert binge, and digging into a treat with the mindset of a conscious indulgence has been a game changer for both myself and my clients too.
If you had to name your healthy diet, what would you call it, and why? Plant-based with occasional wild swimmers. I believe that the basis of any healthy diet is more plants and what’s from mother nature is best for our bodies, the animals, and the environment.
The one food you always have in your fridge? One? My fridge is always stocked, and my closet is bare. Hemp seeds! And almond flour so I can make my famous healthy choco chip cookies.
The one snack you always have when traveling? Green apple. Love the tartness and hydration.
Your favorite conscious food indulgence? Chocolate molten cake. The oozier the better! You know you’re drooling too. Grab a spoon, I’ll share.
What’s your workout of choice? Yoga. Hands down.
How do you stay active outside the gym? Hiking with my three rescue pit bull mixes and riding/caring for my two horses. A lifestyle with animals is naturally active, strengthening and pawsitively provides the best emotional resilience. My two cats purrs could replace Prozac!
What’s your go-to tool for managing stress? Honestly, taking a long deep breath and yelling an obscenity. It feels good, is relieving and immediately lightens your mood.
What does it mean to you to “live consciously”? My awareness of what I contribute to my near and far surroundings. From the things I say, buy, listen to, use, give, and what I spend my time on. I strongly believe that how we do one thing is how we do EVERYTHING. I’m organized AF, vote with my dollars, choose the best for what I can control, and worry less about the things I can’t.
What’s your weirdest healthy habit? This would be weird to a phone addict… but I put my phone on Airplane Mode around 8:00 or 9:00 p.m. and don’t turn it back on until I’ve brushed my teeth, thought about my dreams, spent time with the animals, and gone through my gratitude list in the morning. F#cking game changer! Nothing disrupts your mood or thoughts before bed, and YOU ARE IN CHARGE OF YOUR MORNING. You eliminate everyone wanting things from you or social media playing with your emotions. Try it, and let me know how it impacts your life for the better.
