Avocado Dressing with Kefir

Not gonna lie, but creamy ranch dressing is kind of amazing. Your body, however, would have to disagree, since it’s generally a source of excess calories (and if you buy it bottled, all kinds of unhealthy ingredients).

Here’s a healthy alternative: a dressing made with kefir, which provides the creamy base that’s reminiscent of ranch, and other nutritious ingredients like garlic, lemon, and olive oil.

Add in avocado, and it’s kind of everything you could possibly need in a dressing, whether you’re coating a kale salad or dipping your almond-crusted, baked chicken tenders.

1/3 avocado

1/2 cup kefir

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/2 garlic clove, minced

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper



Avocado Dressing with Kefir
  1. In a medium sized bowl, mash avocado.
  2. Add kefir, olive oil, lemon, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  3. Whisk until well combined.
  4. Refrigerate until served.


Not only is it super delicious, but when you add it to your salad, it’ll fulfill the rest of your nutrient needs. You’ve already got the veggie goodness; this brings protein (and probiotics!) from the kefir and healthy fats thanks to avocado and olive oil.
