Steak Salad

A plate of meat and potatoes is an old standard, but a steak salad is definitely more our style when it comes to the best way to enjoy red meat.

The basis of a healthy diet, after all, is eating as many plants as possible.

Protein is incredibly important, but when it comes to getting it from red meat, most people tend to go overboard. A salad like this makes vegetables the center of the meal and the steak an accompaniment—not the other way around.

If you can, choose grass-fed steak for maximum nutrition (and better karma).

Oh, and most importantly, get the recipe for Keri’s Lemon Dressing here!

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 ounces grilled lean steak filet
  • 2 cups baby spinach
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onions
  • 1 tablespoon Keri’s Lemon Dressing

DIRECTIONS

  • Slice steak and set aside.
  • Place spinach in medium sized bowl and add tomatoes and onions.
  • Toss with dressing.
  • Top dressed salad with steak.

WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE

It’s a pretty classic steak salad, and when it comes to steak, isn’t classic kind of what you’re going for? The only big difference is the simple, homemade dressing, which takes under five minutes to make and goes with everything (so you can make extra and put it on everything all week).
