Grapefruit-Tea1

Who knew you could make tea from grapefruit? While it’s a hydrating, refreshing fruit, citrus is at its peak in winter, so a warming way to enjoy it is kind of brilliant. And with cinnamon and lavender honey? It’s a tasty flavor combination you’re going to love.

Ingredients

1/2 grapefruit
dash ground cinnamon or cinnamon stick
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon lavender honey

Directions

  1. Squeeze grapefruit into a small pot, then slice up the flesh and toss it in the pot.
  2. Sprinkle cinnamon on top or add a cinnamon stick to pot.
  3. Add the water and bring to a boil.
  4. Pour into a mug and stir in honey.
  5. Add sliver of grapefruit rind and serve hot.
WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE Besides predictable (but incredible) vitamin C, grapefruit also contains fiber, folate, potassium, and powerful antioxidants naringin and lycopene. Sip on that.
