Oats are one of our pantry staples for many reasons, and eating overnight oats for breakfast is one of our favorite ways to enjoy them. They’re great for the busiest days since there’s no morning cook time, or for summer months when a steaming bowl just doesn’t sound appealing. And just like you can add all kinds of nuts, nut butters, seeds, fruit, and spices to a bowl of hot oatmeal, it’s easy to get creative with the cold, overnight version.

Ingredients

1/3 cup rolled oats
1/3 cup unsweetened almond milk
dash cinnamon

Directions

  1. In a small mason jar or bowl, add oats, almond milk, and cinnamon. Stir to combine.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes or overnight before enjoying.
WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE Oatmeal is a satisfying, energizing breakfast thanks to its fiber and protein, but sometimes you don’t have time to wait while it simmers. This approach means it’s ready and waiting in the fridge when you wake up, mix in protein powder for an added boost. Sprinkle on any healthy, delicious toppings, like berries, cinnamon, nuts, and seeds.
