high-protein breakfast recipes

Your kids want Reese’s Puffs? Serve them this peanut butter cup-inspired oatmeal, instead. The popular cereal is basically just sugar dressed up as breakfast. This, meanwhile, has basically the same amazing sweet flavor with none of the bad stuff. Our apologies if they start demanding it every. single. day. (Sorry, not sorry.)

Ingredients

1/2 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup unsweetened, almond milk
2 teaspoons natural peanut butter
2 teaspoons dark chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Combine the oats and almond milk in a small bowl. Microwave on high for 2 to 3 minutes, stirring halfway through and again after the oats are cooked through.
  2. Stir the peanut butter into the oats until well combined.
  3. Top with dark chocolate chips and enjoy!
WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE Oatmeal is one of our favorite breakfast foods thanks to its filling, energizing protein and fiber, and this version adds extra protein, healthy fats, and antioxidants.
