Making these Whole Wheat Crostinis is so simple it’s silly. But their flavor is complex because of a super ingredient: garlic. Garlic makes basically anything taste amazing, and we’re not afraid to admit we rely on it pretty often. These are great to put out on fruit and cheese plate at a party or to serve alongside a hearty soup or an Italian meal. Since they’re small, it will introduce a little portion control (unlike tearing off chunks of a loaf of bread).

Ingredients

1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
10 slices fresh, crusty whole wheat bread or baguette
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. In small bowl, combine oil and garlic. Brush bread slices equally with mixture.
  2. Sprinkle equally with parmesan cheese and broil 3-5 minutes until toasted.
WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE Remember when we mentioned garlic? It’s anti-inflammatory and its cancer-preventing powers are so strong some research shows it may even slow or stop the growth of tumors in some tissues.
