Grapefruit Mint Mojito

Time: 5 minutes
Servings: 1

A good mojito is one of our favorite drinks, and this grapefruit version is an amazing twist on the classic. It’s a little tangier than the standard, but also more refreshing, so it’ll taste amazing on a hot, sunny day. We picture you sipping one poolside, at a lovely garden party, or on your best friend’s gorgeous roof deck…that you’re really jealous of.

Ingredients

10 fresh mint leaves
1/2 cup crushed ice
1/2 cup sliced grapefruit
1 ounce light rum
splash club soda

Directions

  1. Layer the bottom of a pint glass with mint and cover to the halfway point with crushed ice.
  2. Take a spoon and muddle the mint and ice together to release the flavor.
  3. Add grapefruit and mix in with ice.
  4. Pour rum over the fruity slush and top off with club soda.
  5. Garnish with a bright, ruby red slice of grapefruit.
WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE The refreshing cocktail often gets a bad rap for being filled with sugar, but we go easy on the sugar and make flavor magic with the muddle: Take extra care to really grind up that mint to extract the most flavor possible. Bonus: the grapefruit adds tartness and antioxidants.
