how to flavor meat

There’s no reason to buy a packaged marinade when you’ve got a recipe like this. First, it falls into one of our favorite recipe categories: Five ingredients or less. Very few ingredients, in turn, means very few minutes spent making it. And it’s got a crowd-pleasing flavor profile that takes any protein—chicken, fish, or tofu, for example—from bland to super tasty. Celiac-friendly chef tip: Substitute tamari or liquid aminos for the soy sauce to make it gluten-free.

Ingredients

3 cups dry white wine
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients together until combined.
WHY WE LOVE THIS RECIPE It’s fast, simple, and flavorful, and is something you can learn to make once and then use for a million different meals. Plus, cayenne pepper contains a substance called capsaicin, which is known for its many health benefits. It’s also what adds that fiery, delicious flavor.
