Bobbi Brown’s Personal Beauty-From-Within Strategies

Bobbi Brown is one of the most recognizable names in beauty. She founded the iconic brand Bobbi Brown Cosmetics in 1991, which is often credited with kickstarting the “no-makeup makeup” revolution. And she’s written nine (!) books advising women of all ages on the best beauty and makeup practices.

So it came as a surprise to many when in 2016 she stepped away from her namesake company to pursue other projects—including the lifestyle site justBOBBI, launched in 2018, and a supplement line, Evolution_18.

For Brown, though, the transition from cosmetics to wellness seemed like a completely natural next step. “I always believed that what you put into your body greatly affects not only how you look, but also how you feel,” she says. “Writing [my book] Beauty From the Inside Out and becoming a health coach increased my passion for helping others champion their health.”

Throughout her impressive career in the industry, one thing was clear: The connection between beauty and health is full circle. “Healthy skin is beautiful,” she says. It’s why her supplements contain ingredients like collagen and antioxidants, and her site advises on proper practices for fitness and balancing hormones. Because by improving your overall health, you’ll both feel and look better.

Brown, course, has her own wellness routine completely locked in. Her diet, for example, is chock-full of skin-friendly foods, and her workout routine includes a daily sweat session. She shared with us all the details on her inspiring Nutritious Life, below.

How Does Bobbi Brown Live a Nutritious Life?

If you had to name your healthy diet, what would you call it? Intuitive, because I believe in listening to my body.

What’s your go-to breakfast? Greek yogurt, blueberries, and chia.

Your go-to workday lunch? Chopped salad with protein.

Your go-to workday dinner? Either protein, veggies, and rice, or bean pasta, and vodka on the rocks.

The snack you always have with you when traveling? An apple.

Your favorite food indulgence? French fries, or french bread. Or pizza.

How often do you exercise, and what’s your workout of choice? Daily, even if it’s walking. I always raise my heart rate. I love to mix it up with yoga and weights.

Which workout would you NEVER do? Tough Mudder.

How do you stay active outside of the gym? I walk everywhere—I speed walk on vacations.

How do you pamper yourself when you need it? Massage, but not enough.

Do you have a favorite health gadget? Garmin. It tracks everything, especially sleep.

How do you express and spread love? By being positive.

What does it mean to you to “live consciously”? To be in the moment.

Which healthy habit do you wish you had more time for? Sitting still.
