All about Alli.
Alli is a new, over-the-counter, FDA-approved weight
loss-drug. The drug works by acting on some of the enzymes in
your digestive tract, preventing them from breaking down about
25% of the fat that you eat. This undigested fat can not be
absorbed by your body.

Keri's take: While it might seem like
a "miracle pill," Alli definitely has its downside - while you
aren't absorbing some of the fat that you eat, you also are
not absorbing some of the fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and
K). You also still need to commit to a healthy, low-fat diet
and exercise regimen - the things that you need anyway to lose
weight - so a pill really is not necessary. There can also be
horrible GI side effects. Plus, knowing that "something" is
helping you lose weight often is a subconscious crutch leading
to a diet disaster.
